Ye Olde Sulphur Spa Historical Society presents "The Quintessential Flapper from Head to Toe" on March 18 at 6:30 pm at the York Springs Four Square Gospel Church, 400 Main St.
Dr. Karin Bohleke, Director of the Fashion Archives and Museum of Shippensburg University will be our speaker. Her lecture will explore the myths and realities of fashions of the 1920s.
Dr. Bohleke “holds a Ph.D. in French language and literature from Yale University, and also serves as an assistant adjunct professor of French at Shippensburg and Penn State-Mont Alto. She formerly worked at Hood College in Frederick, MD, where she taught French, Russian, Classical Mythology, and Humanities for the graduate school
The cost of the meal and program is $17.00 per person. A buffet dinner of stuffed chicken breast with gravy, rice pilaf, California blend, applesauce, rolls, and cherry cheese dessert will be served, catered by Hughes Meats and Deli.
