The Adams County Historical Society has a wonderful library of books related to the history of Adams County. Books are shelved according to their Library of Congress number. The staff and volunteers have cataloged over 2,000 books in the Society's database. What this means for researchers is that books can be found by a keyword search on the computers at Schmucker Hall. The Society's library is a closed stacks library. Research assistance will pull books on request and bring them to the research room. The Adams County Historical Society is not a lending library; all books stay on the premises. The Society does sell copies of some of its publications.
