Research Assistants
Research Assistants help patrons in our research rooms. You will become skilled in all forms of genealogical, property, and county history research. This is a great opportunity to meet our wonderful research team and get great experience on the front lines of historical research!

Collections Assistants
Collections Assistants work on a variety of archives-related projects. This opportunity will allow you to become familiar with PastPerfect, the industry standard database for museums and archives. You will have hands-on experience working with original items, and tasks include organizing, re-housing materials, cataloging, and creating finding aids. You will work directly with our Collections Manager.

Credit and Non-Credit Interns
The Adams County Historical Society welcomes high school and college students for a wide range of internships. Get in touch with us about your internship requirements, and we will work with you to make your time at ACHS a wonderful educational experience!

Program Support Volunteers

Publicity & Marketing Volunteers
Do you have marketing or PR experience? We are in need of volunteers to help us maintain our social media presence, film and edit short videos, and maintain our website. Get in touch with us if this sounds like something you would like to help with.

Development Interns
Do you have experience with nonprofits and fundraising? We are searching for dedicated interns to assist us with our development initiatives. This will be an excellent way for you to develop knowledge of nonprofit fundraising techniques including major gifts solicitation, planned giving, and grant writing. You will work directly with our Executive Director and members of the Board of Trustees.
