DIGITAL PROGRAM: Introduction to Military Records Research

Thursday, October 15, 2020
7:00 pm8:00 pm

We continue our weekly digital program series. Please tune on our Facebook page to view the live stream: www.facebook.com/achspa

Join members of ACHS’s Military Research Committee as they guide you through dozens of research options that you encounter as you seek details of a family member’s military experience or you plan to write the story of a veteran. Learn how to begin your research, how to navigate the growing number of online databases, and what you might find at the National Archives and Records Administration.

Larry Garnes, recently retired from NARA, offers tips from his work in genealogy and military research at the Archives. Antigoni Ladd, ACHS Board member, offers a framework for your research and ideas for preserving your veteran’s story.
Handouts from this program, which was designed as a course to be run this Spring (before the pandemic shut down our facilities), are available on the ACHS Website:
