Evergreen Cemetery Walking Tour
Established in 1853, and opened the following year, Evergreen Cemetery was Gettysburg’s first non-denominational cemetery. Located on a prominent hill overlooking the town, the site was chosen a decade later as the lynchpin in a strong Northern defensive position during the Battle of Gettysburg. Join historian and guide Timothy H. Smith, as he discusses the early history of the cemetery and some of the more famous town residents who are buried there.
This tour will be conducted inside Evergreen Cemetery. Please park on the right side of Baltimore Street/Pike and plan for a two-hour walk on a paved sidewalk.
Tickets are sold out.
