How do I become a member?
There are multiple ways to become a member of the Adams County Historical Society. The easiest way is through our website. You can also become a member in-person during regular business hours (Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. or Fridays-Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Additionally, you can fill out a physical membership form (available to download here) and mail or drop the completed form off to 625 Biglerville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
What are the benefits of membership?
Membership benefits include free admission to Gettysburg Beyond the Battle Museum and the Dr. Charles H. Glatfelter Research Room as well as special pricing on events and programs. For a full list of benefits for each level of membership, please click here.
Will I receive a membership card?
Yes, physical membership cards are typically mailed within one week of joining ACHS.
What if my membership card has not arrived yet?
If you are planning to visit the history center and museum but your membership card has not arrived yet, do not worry, as our front desk staff can look up your membership information.
How can I check the status of my membership?

Do you offer business memberships?

How many times can I visit the museum as a member?
Members receive unlimited access to the museum; however, members must reserve their free ticket in advance or in-person when they arrive.
How long is my membership valid for?
Membership is valid for one full year from the date you join ACHS.
Can I give my membership card to a friend or family member to use for their visit?
No, membership is not transferable.
Can I upgrade my membership level?
Yes, if you are interested in upgrading your membership, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (717) 334-4723.
Can I buy a gift membership for someone?
Yes, gift memberships are available. If you complete the membership form online, make sure to check the box next to “This membership is a gift.” Additionally, members at the Archivist Level ($250) or above receive one gift family membership as part of their benefits package.
I moved, or updated my email address - how can I change my membership to reflect this?

Is my membership tax-deductible?
No, but any donation made to ACHS is fully tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
If I provide an email address, how often will I hear from you?
ACHS sends a monthly e-newsletter as well as occasional emails about upcoming events and programs. On average, you will hear from us about once a week.
Does the museum share my information with anyone else?
No, we do not share your information with anyone else.
How do I receive the ACHS newsletter?
When you become a member of ACHS, you are automatically subscribed to our monthly e-newsletter. If you are not currently receiving the newsletter but would like to, you can join the mailing list here.
How many people can be included in my membership?
The number of people included in your membership depends on your membership level. At the Family Level ($70) and above, the membership includes all permanent members of your household.
Does ACHS still print an annual history journal?
At this time, ACHS does not print an annual history journal. Past editions of the annual journal are available for purchase in our gift shop.
How do I redeem my gift shop discount?
If you are a member at the Curator Level ($120) or above, your discount will automatically be applied when you provide your name or membership card to the associate at the gift shop check-out.
